The Intergenerational Programs
Kid Stuff at Center in the Park
Fulton Elementary School Programs
We have a right to write! Pen Pals
Older Adult Pen Pals exchange positive and caring letters with elementary school students once a month during the school year. The pairs meet for two or three social gatherings at Center in the Park, bonding relationships and sharing their joy.
100 Book Challenge!
Three days each week, in one hour intervals, Center in the Park reading coaches cheer on the students to meet the 100 Book Challenge. Tutoring in basic reading skills like sounding out letters, recognizing pictures and developing the ability to listen helps students on the road to success.
Growing up in Germantown-Art Program
Germantown residents translate their youth through the arts. Focus groups, hands on intergenerational art projects, music, dance, and book discussions explore growing up in a changing world.

Germantown Friends School Mentoring Program
Sharing is the keynote of our mentoring program with 6th grade students. Over an eight-month time period the students and CIP members become partners through exchange of personal experiences, social history, family folklore and origins, blended with goals and ambitions. We meet for this rewarding experience once each month.
