ENJOY SPRING CLASS PERFORMANCES
AND SIGN-UP FOR SUMMER CAMP AT CENTER IN THE PARK
End of the Spring Class session at Center in the Park will feature a number of free performances which the public is cordially
invited to attend. All events are held at Center in the Park located in historic Vernon Park, 5818 Germantown Avenue.
Off-street parking is available on the lot at Rittenhouse and McCallum Streets.
Behold the wonderful talent and energy of CIP members as the CIP Starlight Tappers dazzle you with their toe-tapping magic. For
a double-treat, you can watch CIP’s belly dancers perform routines that they featured last year as guests on 10NBC. The Tap and
Belly Dance Performance will be held in CIP’s Auditorium on Tuesday, June 10th at 1:00PM.
Come hear the sounds of CIP’s piano students turn CIP’s Auditorium into “Carnegie Hall, NW.” The CIP Piano Recital will be held
on Friday, June 13th at 1:00PM.
Enjoy the cool sounds of jazz guitar and the lyrical feats of CIP’s spoken word artists on Thursday, June 19th at 1:00PM in the
CIP Auditorium. Join CIP’s poets and guitar classes, led by CIP Artist in Residence, Monette Sudler Honesty, as they present
words and music to make you laugh, cry and reflect.
Are you spending time with your grandchildren or other young people in your family or neighborhood this summer? What better way
to entertain them (and, yourself) than by signing-up to attend “Summer Camp for Grandparents and the Children They Love,” at
Center in the Park. The camp is unique in that it is held daily (Monday-Friday) from 10:00am until Noon with different themes
daily, including: computer classes; dance lessons; art classes; movies; reading; and, crafts; and you can choose you own
schedule – you can come daily, weekly or for the duration of the camp; or, you can come to one or two sessions – it’s up to you
and your schedule. Adults must accompany the children, ages 4 to 12 years old, as the camp is an intergenerational
experience. The cost of the full camp, from June 30th – August 15th is only $125.; or you can choose the daily rate of $25. for

The intergenerational summer camp program is presented with funding from the Caroline Alexander Buck Foundation; and, is a part of
the In Touch: Mind, Body, and Spirit Program at CIP which promotes healthy aging for older adults. In Touch is a collaboration
between Center in the Park and Thomas Jefferson’s Center for Applied Research on Aging and Health (CARAH) which is funded by the
