Center in the Park’s Housing Education Workshops and Neighborhood Energy Center Conservation Workshops Can Help You Stretch It
Attend a free financial education workshop on Friday, October 14th, 1:00pm, at Center in the Park (CIP), located in historic Vernon Park, 5818 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. It’s your money – it’s important to know what to do with it.
Rick Saunders, AARP-PA educator, will be on hand to answer questions about insurance; buying and selling gold and precious metals; extra fees associated with various services; as well as free lunches and dinners that aren’t really free. Learn how to pay attention to the details in the small print that can be deceptive.
This activity is made possible, in part, through funding from the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Housing and Community Development. Please call to pre-register, as seating may be limited, 215-848-7722, ask for the Program Office or stop by the Center to register.
With the winter heating season fast approaching, now is the time to get energy costs under control. Attend a conservation workshop presented by CIP’s Neighborhood Energy Center staff. Trainers will demonstrate installation of weatherization materials; discuss rising energy costs; provide information for conservation and energy assistance programs; and, ways to get tax credits for improvements. Conservation materials will be provided free to all eligible participants.
