Exercise Specialist - Fitness Center Manager

Responsibilities:
Plan and manage the daily operations and administrative details of Center in the Park’s Fitness Center, a Healthways Silver Sneakers site.
Fully comprehend, articulate and reflect in professional practice the mission and philosophy of Center in the Park.
Conduct orientation to the Fitness Center and to the equipment for older adult participants.
Perform fitness evaluation and assess current level of ability for older adult participants joining the Fitness Center.
Design personalized exercise programs.
Monitor ongoing progress. Report participant problems/concerns to Supervisor.
Maintain knowledge of insurance reimbursement policies and procedures.
Participate in planning and evaluation of Fitness Center.
Arrange for regular service and maintenance of fitness center equipment and report problems to Supervisor.
Work collaboratively with Center in the Park staff and volunteers to carry out the purpose of the Fitness Center and incorporate into center activities/programs, as appropriate.
Research, evaluate and implement new exercise programs.
Market benefits of Fitness Center membership to increase enrollment and participation.
Participate in community and agency programs to promote physical activity and fitness.
Provide statistical data and narrative reports on Fitness Center use.
Provide related training and instruction for older adult participants and Center in the Park staff, as appropriate.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
Certification in CPR and First Aid
Silver Sneakers Certification - Preferred
Current certification by an approved exercise/fitness agency/organization or comparable education/training and experience
Knowledge of exercise physiology, therapeutic recreation and physical therapy
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Good problem resolution skills
Data management and technology skills
Ability to relate well with co-workers, older adult participants and volunteers

Facility Manager

Center in the Park is seeking a candidate with experience in maintaining physical plants to be responsible for mechanical systems, housekeeping maintenance, grounds maintenance, vehicle maintenance and security monitoring services. Assists in set-up of daily activities and maintains preventative maintenance schedule and planning. Participates in the development and implementation of new initiatives. Shows enthusiasm for working as part of a team and sensitivity to an older adult clientele. Great working environment. Knowledge of mechanical and facility structural issues necessary; high school diploma and experience required, technical degree is a plus. Commercial driver’s license a plus, driver’s license required. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. Supervisory experience necessary to coordinate with provider of janitorial service and conduct vendor negotiations. CIP is an equal opportunity employer.
