"I learned a great deal from the Chronic Disease Self Management classes. We covered a lot of important subject matters that I have applied to my life such as; making an action plan, fitness/exercise, nutrition, communication, medications, and working with my doctor. My Doctor even noticed a difference in my overall health and told me what ever you are doing, keep on doing it. Thanks to the Harvest Health Program." Testimony from a Harvest Health Participant

Join The Men’s Gathering at CIP!

    Hey Buddy…

Remember when we were young-uns? Hanging out with the boys, shootin’ the breeze and clowning on each other? But as we got older, our circle got smaller. Folks moved away, got busy raising families, working... As time went on some of our friends even started to pass away. Well, that was getting me down for a while. Then I got to thinking… why don’t I make some new friendships and start having fun again?

The Men’s Gathering at Center in the Park is just the place for that! Every Friday we get together in the CIP Technology Lab for a couple of hours. Our Facilitator, Mike Sommerville, Jr is very knowledgeable about computers and shares a lot with us! Last week we learned about how to get free music and movies!

We also have what he calls a “Friday’s Man” which is a monthly guest speaker. Mike brings in some very interesting men, so you can learn something you thought you already knew!

We even have trips! We just came back from a fishing trip and had a good time (even though we didn’t catch too much of anything)! We’re going to go fishing again in September-but this time to Massachusetts… I hear the catch is a lot better there.

And then there was the time we went to see the Phillies play the Brewers. It was a little chilly… and the Phils lost, but we still had fun just being out and having a good time.

You’re gonna have to come on out with me next time we all meet up, Bro! If you…

  • Have questions about the Internet, phones or computer virus protection
  • Have never used a computer, but want to learn how to use one

  • Want some tips for staying healthy as you grow older
  • Are a veteran with questions about accessing benefits
  • Enjoy reminiscing about growing up in Philly “back in the day”
  • …then this is the gathering for you!
